The initiative to incorporate ozone therapy into the health legislation of the state of Quintana Roo, which was presented by the Labor Party (PT) in the Quintana Roo Congress on October 29, 2025, was accepted by the Standing Committee and sent to the relevant committee for analysis and possible proposal to the full Congress.
The previous proposal from 2020, also presented by the PT, did not come to fruition. Therefore, this party decided to present it for a second time, knowing it could garner more support, considering that after the project’s failure in 2020, the states of Mexico City (when the current president of the nation was its mayor) and Hidalgo regulated ozone therapy in 2023 and 2024, respectively. https://diariocambio22.mx/congreso-de-quintana-roo-analizara-procesos-claros-para-permisos-de-filmacion/
Reforming Article 72 of the Health Law
The project proposes “to recognize and regulate the practice of ozone therapy as a certified professional medical and technical activity.” This would allow “ozone therapy to be applied under scientific standards and by certified professionals, guaranteeing patient safety.”
