The “4th Congress of the Madrid Declaration on Ozone Therapy (4th Edition)For the Unification of Criteria in the Practice of Ozone Therapy” took place at the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid (ICOMEM) on Thursday, June 5, 2025. It was followed by a theoretical and practical course (June 6-7).

The 4th edition of the “Madrid Declaration on Ozone Therapy” was presented and launched at the congress.

Congress Venue

The fact that the congress was held at the headquarters of the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid (ICOMEM) sent a strong message in favor of ozone therapy.

AEPROMO had been expelled from ICOMEM in 2017, considering this therapy as a pseudo therapy.

Ozone therapy made a strong comeback and was very well received.

Participants

Faced with the increase in registrations for the congress, the organization had to rent a larger conference hall because the maximum number estimated had already been exceeded. Seventeen different nationalities were present at the congress.

Among the participants were a significant number of physicians from the Spanish public sector, including unit heads from several Spanish public hospitals. It should be noted that in Spain, ozone therapy is practiced in 26 public hospitals.

In 2008 there were 20. Their number increased to 23 in 2021.

There are currently 26 Spanish public hospitals.

Scientific level of the congress

The very high scientific level of the congress and the enormous advances that ozone therapy has made in recent years were reflected in the fact that six of the eleven presentations had been previously published in the “Ozone Therapy Global Journal” or other scientific journals. Some of the presentations, not yet published, will be gradually published in the coming months.

There was a total of eleven presentations given by ten speakers.

All ten speakers were members of ISCO3.

Seven of the ten had completed the ozone therapy diploma course, organized by AEPROMO, which currently includes 350 hours.

AEPROMO Course

A two-day theoretical and practical course for 50 healthcare professionals took place immediately after the congress. AEPROMO, the course organizer, had to hang a “full capacity” sign.

It is worth noting that the five teachers were physician women, and all of them had completed the AEPROMO diploma course.

Honored at the Congress

Dr. Heinz Konrad, “Father of Ozone Therapy in Brazil,” and Dr. Adriana Schwartz, president of ISCO3 and AEPROMO (see separate pieces of information)
