Bill seeks to incorporate ozone therapy into the Health Law for the State of Puebla

Initiative presented by Representative Susana del Carmen Riestra Piña of the PAN (National Action Party)

The initiative to reform the second paragraph of Article 72 of the Health Law for the State of Puebla was presented by Representative Susana del Carmen Riestra Piña of the PAN (National Action Party). It has already been sent to the Health Commission for review and appropriate resolution. https://retodiario.com/politica/2025/05/23/proponen-en-el-congreso-de-puebla-reconocer-la-ozonoterapia-como-herramienta-auxiliar-en-salud/

If the bill is ultimately approved by the Congress of the State of Puebla. Ozone therapy could be used in both public and private medicine as an auxiliary tool in healthcare.

Currently, Puebla is one of the 32 states in Mexico where ozone therapy is widely used by a significant and growing number of physicians and dentists.

Therefore, an agreement has been reached between the School of Dentistry of BUAP (Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla) and AHOMER (Hispanic-American Association of Ozone Therapy and Regenerative Medicine) to hold meetings to agree on specific work plans so that the school’s students become familiar with ozone therapy and its various uses in dental practice. https://aepromo.org/en/presidenta-de-aepromo-se-reune-con-directivos-de-la-buap-benemerita-universidad-autonoma-de-puebla-mexico-23-septiembre-2024/

Three states in the Mexican Republic have already incorporated ozone therapy into their legislation.

The first to do so was Nuevo León (2018). https://aepromo.org/en/ozonoterapia-is-part-right-now-in-the-law-of-the-mexican-state-of-nuevo-leon/

Mexico City followed suit (January 2023). https://aepromo.org/en/mexico-continues-to-regularize-the-practice-of-ozone-therapy/
