- Research on the use of ozone therapy in cancer patients with neuropathic pain.
- Due to chemotherapy and radiation toxicity, patients may suffer from neuropathic pain.
- This research, funded by a grant of 180.000,00€, is being conducted at the Dr. Negrín University Public Hospital in the Canary Islands (Spain).
- Bernardino Clavo, a member of AEPROMO, is one of the principal members of the research team.
Research on the use of ozone therapy in cancer patients suffering from neuropathic pain resulting from chemotherapy and radiation toxicity is underway in the Canary Islands, Spain.
The research aims to analyze the effects of medical ozone to reduce, through the scientific and medical application of ozone therapy, the various neuropathic symptoms experienced by patients as a consequence of chemotherapy (pain, numbness, tingling), as well as the toxicity of radiation. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQB0tH8iMJQ/?igsh=emk3cjFicnNwazh5
The research is being conducted at the Research Unit of the Dr. Negrín University Public Hospital in Las Palmas, Canary Islands. The Research Unit, part of the Canary Islands Health Research Institute Foundation (FIISC), is funded by a grant from the Carlos III Health Institute (PI23/01324) for chemotherapy-induced neuropathy and a 180,000.00€ grant from the Vice Presidency of the Gran Canaria Island Council (Spain) for research into other toxicities of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
One of the leading members of the research team working to mitigate neuropathic pain from chemotherapy and other toxicities of cancer treatments is Dr. Bernardino Clavo, a member of ISCO3 (International Scientific Committee of Ozone Therapy) and AEPROMO (Spanish Association of Medical Professionals in Ozone Therapy). He is also a member of the Evaluation Committee for AEPROMO’s journal, “Ozone Therapy Global Journal.”
