  • Five member countries of the European Union have regulated, the practice of ozone therapy, totally or partially in their territories, 
  • These countries are: Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Germany. 
  • In the rest of the European Union, ozone therapy is practiced without restrictions.

Spain. In 15 autonomous communities (between 2007 and 2012) of the 17 in the kingdom, ozone therapy has been regulated in the private sector through “directives”.

Germany. Based on the current “freedom of therapy” ozone therapy can be practiced without restrictions in Germany. But German statutory health insurance has not reimbursed patients treated with ozone therapy since December 11, 2020. Other member countries of the European Union.

According to the research carried out by Roberto Quintero and Adriana Schwartz, in the rest of the 22 member countries of the European Union, ozone therapy is practiced without restrictions.
